Christopher Freimuth founded CF | GARDENS with the intention of creating ecologically and personally fulfilling garden spaces for a diverse clientele in New York. He is a graduate of Vassar College and the New York Botanical Garden’s School of Professional Horticulture. The son of a roofer and a landscape artist, he is quite at home designing and tending high altitude gardens in New York City. His passion for plants comes from a childhood spent in the forests of New England, as well as extensive experience working on organic farms in New York and California. In addition to garden design and maintenance, Christopher is a writer and photographer whose work can be seen in regional and national nursery and garden association publications. Links to his work can be found here.

Before founding CF | GARDENS, Christopher worked as a certified massage therapist in San Francisco and as a teacher and translator in Brazil. Naturally, his enthusiasm for horticulture is imbued with a particular sensitivity to the human experience. Whether on the massage table, in a classroom or at a garden, his role is to create space for inspiration, connection and growth.

Christopher is a member of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers, New York City's MetroHort Group, the Ecological Landscape Alliance (ELA), and the Association of Garden Communicators (GWA).
